Rhythmically the work is centred on the groove which owes be natural and thought not so as to make us play in registers which we do not master. The teamwork for all these years is a trump card allowing us to go rather fast to the global conception of a title. The production, as for it, is upset by the arrival of the new drummer Manu Masko. As he uses samples, pads, we meet ourselves with a supplementary instrument. It offers us new possibilities, opening towards the hip hop or the techno, for example. The idea of Manu consists in creating its own style on base of percussions and played sounds, it is the originality of his method which seduced us.
We work for some months on a dozen new titles. We began by tracking down traditional dances, noted the times and to analyse grooves. On a sequencer we recorded the cashbook, the snare drum and a Charleston. We entered parts of melodies simplified marrying the motives for dance, harmonized the set then, tried to integrate the melody accordion on the songs. To evolve, we keep permanently a link with the dance. It is thus necessary to purify, to simplify the rhythmic lines and to harmonize in minor or major, every highly-rated interesting Breton melodies often "à cheval" on these two modes.
